  • Ox School | Firehouse Ministries

The Ox school: The Ox nature of God is first of all a symbol of incredible strength. Imagine a 2000 lb. ox who can pull twice his weight. But to earn the title of “ox” and no longer just a cow, he has been trained by his owner to obey directions. Oxen are known for their strength, patience, persistence, and submissive nature. The Ox-like nature of Christ is one of service and sacrifice where strength is made perfect in weakness. Lesson 1: The Unreasonableness of God Lesson 2:Healthy Practice of the Ox Lesson 3:When Nothings Seems Stable Lesson 4: Weak as a Kitten Lesson 5:Chaos, Trust and Elements of Change Lesson 6:The Nuclear Power of Death and Dying to Self School of the Ox Six Lessons As we focus on one of the Faces of God as represented by the Four Living Creatures, we always want to remember how God wants to train us in all four faces eventually because they balance one another. There is also the element of being led by the Holy Spirit in all things and allowing His leading to bring forward in us the type of response that a particular person or situation requires. Keep this in mind as we look more closely at the Ox nature of God. The Ox nature of God is first of all a symbol of incredible strength. He was a son who learned obedience through his constant communion with the Father. The cross is the universal act representing the Ox. We will become very powerfully connected to God by opening ourselves to His teaching us to become the Ox. The goal of this course is for the Holy Spirit to guide and orchestrate the development of the ox in us. Here are some of our goals for this course: To educate students in the characteristics of the Ox-like nature of God To identify the process of the Ox in us and how to walk in it. To come to understand that the sacrifice and submission taught in the Ox leads to great strength and power being added to life. To learn how the Ox has massive and unstoppable determination and energy to move forward no matter what. To learn how the Ox gives the balance and stability that is necessary for God to really trust us and to release His power in our life. To learn how the Ox is the platform for living out of the abundance that God intends for us.

  • When Nothing Seems Stable | Firehouse Ministries

School of the Ox When Nothing Seems Stable by Dr. Nancy Moelk Lesson 3: School of the Ox When Nothing Seems Stable by Dr. Nancy Moelk Our perception of God strongly emerges when we are in a time of transition or turmoil. If we are to receive His help, comfort and transformation in these times we will need to be able to feel His presence, carry accurate beliefs about His view of us and let go of idealistic standards of “the way it should be”. Do you ever imagine God to be a Butler who is slacking on the job? Or as an Abuser who wants to punish you somehow? Or maybe we see Him as not very smart? Obviously if God were any of those things or other negative projections we may put on Him, we would not want to trust Him or cozy up to Him! Dr. Nancy Moelk walks us through the path of getting connection with God that will help us when nothing seems stable. We will learn how so often, we don’t need a solution. We need a relationship with Someone. • Weak as a Kitten | Firehouse Ministries

Weak as a Kitten by Richard Kinney speaks on how we need a child-like relationship with God. We have to grow in it. But then we move on to a more mature relationship with God Lesson 4: Weak as a Kitten by Richard Kinney First of all we need a child-like relationship with God. We have to grow in it. But after being there for a season, there comes a time when we need to step up to the next level of relationship. The next is bridal love where what is required of us is more demanding. God will call us up to higher level of love. Bridal love requires an intimacy that isn’t needed in the Father-child relationship which is a simpler relationship. And after bridal love comes, hopefully, a spousal relationship. Loneliness and frustration are two things that indicate it might be time to move on. What used to stimulate us and cause us to feel close to God no longer seems to have the same affect. Many have learned to minister by being a pipe line of God’s grace that flows to others. But a pipeline is empty. So when ministry time is over you are still empty. The goal is not to become a pipe. You are meant to become one with what is in the pipe. Jesus set the example: I and the Father are One. You and Jesus are supposed to become intermeshed so closely that people say, “Who is here?” We need to have the Father speak our name to us and we need to look back to Him and have Him to say “I approve of you, I love you”. “Hi, how are you doing?” If Jesus showed up in room He would talk to you. He would say hello to you. He was humble and willing to hang out with people--with individuals. We desperately need the personal relationship with God. • Chaos, Trust, and Elements of Change | Firehouse Ministries

Chaos and Trust and Elements of Change by Dr. Nancy Moelk Lesson 5: Chaos and Trust and Elements of Change by Dr. Nancy Moelk Jesus talked about how the Kingdom of God is come upon you. It has to do with God’s idea and way coming in to take over the way that is already there. When God brings what He has to offer, other things have to be taken away. There is a constant battle between the chaos of sin and God coming in and hovering over that and beginning to establish His order. God brings in chaos to destroy chaos. For example, the flood, the destruction of the Temple, invasion of Israel’s land, etc. He destroys the chaos created by the rebellion and sin of people by sending His own version of chaos. One kind of chaos comes through evil. It is the result of separation from God. And now for God to come in and bring redemption and change things back there is another kind of chaos that has to happen. There is a violence to evil, but there is also a violence to healing and restoration. It is all through the Bible. Think of the violence of the Cross. If a person sets their heart for God to come in and have a relationship with Him nothing can remain the same. There needs to be a violent usurping of what is in their soul. When we live in the illusion of separation and isolation from God, there are all kinds of twisting that go on in the soul that becomes “normal” to a person. Like a person in a violent car wreck, everything has to be set back in order. • The Way of the Christian Warrior | Firehouse Ministries

The Way of the Christian Warrior by Richard Kinney Lesson 2: School of the Lion The Way of the Christian Warrior by Richard Kinney A warrior is able to turn a battle around to a time of promotion. We can get roughed up in the battles of life, but victory is assured. We have already won. The devil and company will be defeated. No matter how bitter the battle, we win. A soldier is not surprised if they get hurt or inconvenienced. But what does the enemy try to con us into believing? The enemy is always trying to con us into believing we are weak and have lost. How can moments of seeming defeat be an opportunity for promotion. Part of it is that the Lion of Christ inhabits the Lamb of our vulnerability and sacrifice in our lives. When your challenging moment comes, you can choose to face it and win, or you can choose to walk away and lose. It is a day where you have a unique opportunity to move forward. • Hearing God for Yourself and Others | Firehouse Ministries

Hearing God for Yourself and Others by Richard Kinney Lesson 1: School of the Eagle Hearing God for Yourself and Others by Richard Kinney Why is it important to be “flexible” in relationship with God? To be willing to be surprised? To step out of a predictable little box we may have tried to put Him in? This is vital because He is so much bigger than us. We can’t control Him or predict Him. We don't want to shield ourselves from hurt and risk so that we never venture forth in relationship. We want to risk making ourselves vulnerable to life, relationship and failure in the hope we can be met by God in a surprising and fun way. • An Encounter with the Eagle | Firehouse Ministries

Eyes to See (An Encounter with the Eagle) by Dr. Nancy Moelk Lesson 6: Eyes to See (An Encounter with the Eagle) by Dr. Nancy Moelk We may not be tuned into the heavenly realm, but it always near us even though it is another dimension. When people in the Bible reported visions and experiences of interfacing with the heavenly dimensions, it was a “whole body experience” and not something that just happened in their heads. Dr. Nancy Moelk shares an encounter she had with one of the Four Living Creatures, the Eagle. Dr. Moelk explains what are some of God's purposes in having us experience heaven through encounters and what effect that will probably have on us. It is not for entertainment purposes, but rather for our growth and development leading to deeper intimacy with God. This lesson will hopefully raise your expectation of having connection with the population of heaven. • Nuclear Power of Death /Dying to Self | Firehouse Ministries

The Nuclear Power of Death and Dying to Self by Richard Kinney Lesson 6: The Nuclear Power of Death and Dying to Self by Richard Kinney Their misunderstanding of death and dying to self has left many Christians weak and shallow when we are all created to be deep and powerful. What will be the result of our reconnecting with this concept? It will help us to reconnect with both sides of heaven and earth and help us to become the impactful Christians that we know inside of ourselves that we were created to be. If we reject life’s positives or life’s negatives, we reject life. Many Christians are half alive, even though they serve the Lord of Life. We in the western world have suffocated ourselves by only wanting to acknowledge our “wins” in life. Many of us have learned only to celebrate our successes. Many times, it is through tough times and seasons of failure that great power and authority is released through us. Life involves both the breath in and the breath out. You only have life by engaging both. Richard Kinney explains how our "low" times can result in great victory. The Cross represents the most significant event of an apparent defeat turning out to be a victory. The Unreasonableness of God by Richard Kinney discusses ways that God seems to not do things the way we think He should. Richard Kinney shares with us the path to opening our hearts a bit wider to the reality of God and His way of approaching us with His unreasonable love. He also discusses some of the unreasonable things that happen to us in our journey with God.
